Crafting is at the very heart of the Just For Women service because it can have a positive impact on the clients we work with. In addition to our craft services, we also offer opportunities to take part in a variety of courses and are proud to be able to support the mental health of our clients by providing a free counselling service.
Our craft cree sessions run weekly on Wednesday afternoons between 1pm and 3pm. They offer the opportunity to have a go at new and traditional crafts or simply enjoy and a laugh. Plus, there is always tea, coffee and sometimes cake. Sessions are facilitated by an experienced member of staff who is always on-hand to help.
We run a variety of courses designed to build employability skills, increase resilience and raise awarenesss of a variety of issues. We have developed our own courses designed to encourage self-exploration as women and we also invite external training organisations in to teach a range of tranditional and contemporary subjects.
We offer a variety of craft workshops which offer the opportunity to learn a new craft. Past workshops have included card making, jewellery making and more. Workshops are facilitaed by experienced crafters who provide a supportive and fun environment in which you can learn your new skill.
Our clients come to us from a variety of different backgrounds, many of which have had an impact on their mental health. For some, this will be the first opportunity they have had to talk about their experiences. We believe this to be an absolutely essential component to our work with women.
We recently lauched our brand new peer support group designed specifically for women who experience anxiety in everyday life. We believe this type of support can be very empowering as it gives all members the opportunity to share their experiences, get much needed support and give support to others.
